We recently found out more about Megan in the interview we did, and one thing we saw was how tough of a sportswoman she is. It’s just been announced that Megan will be taking part in the awesome FNB Platinum Trail Run presented by Isuzu, press release follows.
SA trail running star Megan Mackenzie is counting down the days to her very first FNB Platinum Trail Run experience at the ATKV Buffelspoort.
Taking place on Sunday, 24 May 2015 trail running enthusiasts can choose between three distances: a fun filled 8km, a slightly more challenging 12km and the action-packed 24km event.
“I had to withdraw in 2014 due to injury,” says Mackenzie. “I did however attend the event to support all the other runners. It looked like fun, so I am glad that I can participate this year. My goal will be to enjoy every step as much as possible, encourage others to give it their all, and of course a win would be great”.
“I’d recommend this event to all athletes as it gives a glimpse into areas around Johannesburg that are trail running friendly,” continues Mackenzie. “The routes are do-able, but challenging. This is exactly what we want from a race. From what I saw last year there is a fantastic vibe, while trail runners get to do what they love doing most”.
Defined by its exclusivity and terrain, trail runners can look forward to experiencing some of the best trails on offer in the area. Each entrant will receive an awesome goody bag that will include an event t-shirt, while medals will be awarded to all finishers.
You can find out more about the event here.
All the best to Megan and the rest of the runners! If you can make it, it looks like it will be a fantastic run 🙂
