Event Info: The Giant’s Cup Trail Run (GCTR) is a 2-day stage race, set over the 5-day Giant’s Cup Hiking Trail, in the Southern Drakensberg Mountains. The event weekend starts with registration and dinner on Thursday 21st May 2015 at the Sani Pass Hotel, and finishes at the Bushman’s Nek Resort on Sunday 24th May 2015 with the farewell breakfast.

Accommodation will be in 4-man tents that will be supplied by the event. Each runner will have a tent to themselves and the tents will be arranged in a secure tented village at each of the 3 overnight stops.

Dinner and breakfast will be provided at the three hotels where each of the overnight stops occurs and lunch will be provided at the finish of both days of the event.

The beneficiaries of the Giant’s Cup Trail Run include the local branch of EKZNW based at Cobham Nature Reserve and the Endangered Wildlife Trust.

Route Info: Day 1 starts from the Sani Pass Hotel and incorporates the Gxalingenwa Trail and days 1-3 of the Giant’s Cup Hiking Trail. Day 1 finishes at Castleburn Farm on the Drakensberg Gardens road. The total running distance is 33km. Day 2 starts from Castleburn Farm, and incorporates days 4 and 5 of the Giant’s Cup Hiking Trail. Day 2 finishes at the Bushman’s Nek Resort. The total running distance is 29km.
