South AfricaCost:35km: R395; 20km: R295; 10km: R195Contact:Unique Fact: Rural racing through spectacular scenery. Participants will circumnavigate the entire dam, as well as explore parts of the river above the dam.
The short course cuts through the middle of the dam, using a tunnel, and runs around the bottom half of the dam. The Msinsi Reserve is home to Zebra and Impala and a unique side of KwaZulu-Natal, best explored by those willing to go on foot.
The longer courses include a river crossing and a steep climb, and should only be attempted by fit and experienced trail runners. Moisture management t-shirts to the first 400 pre-entries. With a choice of route for the whole family, from the beginner 10km river trails, to the intermediate 20km to the tough 35km!
The event base camp is Nagle Dam, near Pietermaritzburg. Loads of lucky draws. Prizes will be awarded to category winners. Medical Provisions: EMS provide an ambulance on site with full life support.
Runners will have to cover any hospital transfer costs, on site treatment is free.
Starting times: 35km: 7:30am, 20km: 8am, 10km: 8:30am.
Pre-entries, available on www.trailrunning.co.za or www.roag.co.za, close TBA, or when sold out. Register on race morning, from 6:30am. Walkers are welcome.
